Joe was raised in Hamilton and was a general practitioner at Hamilton East Medical Centre for many years.  Joe attended Auckland Medical School, and obtained diplomas in Dermoscopy, skin cancer medicine and surgery, through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Joe loves the outdoors, keeping physically active, and is passionate about helping to ensure people can also enjoy what New Zealand has to offer in the great outdoors without the risk of skin cancer.
